Position Purpose:
The primary purpose for this position is to promote the Tennessee Lottery to retailers, players and the general public at large. Duties include but are not limited to: planning and coordinating special events, in-store promotions, player rewards program elements and performing additional tasks as assigned by Director of Marketing &Special Events.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

- Assist in the research, planning and execution of all special events, and fulfills sponsorship elements that include an onsite activation component
- Assists in planning launch activities of new games and milestone events
- Establishes contact and coordinates activities with district office personnel, retailers and external events staff
- Generates memos and letters via appropriate computer programs
- Coordinates staff activities at special events and in-store promotions
- Tracks expenses
- Compiles information and completes post event recap of special events
- Fulfills premium item requests
- Manages the premium item inventory
- Prepares, set up and tear down for events; loading and unloading vans and trucks; assembly and dismantling tents and special events vehicles
- Some evening, weekend, and overnight travel required
- Responds to questions, complaints and requests for information by email, telephone or in person from citizens, employees, etc.
- Answers telephone utilizing accepted format; provides information, advice and guidance; takes and relays messages and/or directs calls to appropriate personnel
- Prepares, maintains and updates files and logs following prescribed methods
- Assists in managing TEL’s player rewards program, including winner verification, prize fulfillment and program marketing efforts
- Researches premium item ideas and writes premium item Invitation to Bid (ITB)
- Manages a calendar of events and sponsorships for the department
- Serves as lead for all logistical requirements at events as well as ensuring the integrity of our brand and fulfillment of all contractual elements in sponsor contracts
- Prepares timely progress reports on the status of all assigned projects
- Strong ability to work as part of a team

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma (or GED) is required. Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, or Business preferred.
One to three years or more of special events planning or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. At least two years of experience working with sponsorships, special events or promotions is preferred. A valid Tennessee driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record is required. Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
Other Qualifications:
Must be able to travel intra-state for consecutive days using company vehicle. Must maintain a valid Tennessee Driver’s License at all times.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
